It wasn't too long ago when building a website was an expensive process. You needed to know web design or even worse one of the many programing languages such as HTML, CSS or a range of others just to be able to create your own website. Times have changed and DIY website building platforms are now a common commodity within the internet space.
For those who have worked with me or know me well, I know you will all agree that technology has always been my nemesis. I often resisted the need for using technology such as smart phones and even VCR devices, but eventually realised that I couldn't afford to remain tech illiterate.
Roughly two years ago, I decided I needed a website, but actually wanted to build it myself. I researched several DIY website building platforms and after reading several reviews decided to use Weebly's platform for the main reason being that it was deemed by many to be the easiest to use.
My experience with Weebly has been great and over the last two years I have witnessed Weebly grow from offering basic features to being a real heavy weight contender in the DIY arena of website platforms.
Weebly provide great training videos that you can refer to whenever you wish to add a new feature to your website. On the occasions when I have needed more support, they have always been quick to respond and answer any queries that I may have.
Something which makes Weebly stand out from many of the others is that they also offer a free plan which I initially used whilst I developed my website and skills. I also find their pricing plans very competitive.
I have come to realise that Wordpress is probably the most popular platform for building your website on and they also have a free plan as well as their other pay to use plans. If you use Wordpress, then you also need to find a hosting platform such as Bluehost. With Weebly, they also provide the hosting platform.
The main reason I have never used Wordpress is because of all he plugins that can be used to build features into your site. Using these plugins also means you need to take extra precautions to keep your site secure. With Weebly, many of the features are built-in making it so much more user friendly and there are apps available for extra features if you wish to use them.
How easy is it to build a website using Weebly? Very easy as they utilize a drag and drop model for adding elements to your web page. You can either build your own layout for each page or select one of the layout designs available to you when you first set up each page.
Whether you wish to set up a blog, an advertorial website, a portfolio type website or an e-commerce store, Weebly provide themes suited to each of these options.
Today over 50 percent of people using the internet, use their mobile phones to access websites so it is imperative that your website is mobile friendly. Weebly have been providing this feature since they first launched. I have heard of people paying thousands to have websites built which haven't been mobile friendly. A very costly mistake.
Something that has only become available in very recent months is an option to sign up as an affiliate. This could provide you with another income stream depending on the type of website you have built. If you check out my resource page you will find a Weebly banner which if clicked on will take you through to Weebly where you can further check out what they have to offer. If you decide to purchase a plan through Weebly after using this link, then I will receive a small commission as an affiliate member so I thank you in advance for this.
Hope this has been helpful.
